Research
At ViCare, with the support of our dedicated User Lab team, we craft user-centered solutions for a complex and diverse audience. Designing intuitive experiences for over a million users is no small task — it requires structure, empathy, and the right tools. Here’s a look at some of the key methods and design tools I rely on in my product work.
2a
Research: What I do?
User Test Planing
Creating plannig for usability testing, eg. of documents (instructions) provided for redeeming codes in the e-commerce section of the ViCare app, as well as testing the intuitiveness of the user journey during the purchase process.
Individual In-Depth Interviews
Conducting Individual in-depth interviews with users, eg. who activated the Discover feature using a redeem code — their feedback was directly shaping the future of smart functionality in the ViCare app.
Value Curve Tool: Humidity
Discovery phase including how ViCare redefines indoor comfort – room humidity control, offering smarter insights, seamless automation, and a healthier home environment compared to standard solutions. Accomplished with Value Curve tool.
Audits
Eg. Getting ready for the European Accessibility Act. It wasn’t just about ticking boxes — automated tests, conducted hands-on manual reviews, and testing with VoiceOver and TalkBack to ensure ViCare is accessible
03
UX
As the Product Designer for the Foundations module of the ViCare app, I’m responsible for shaping the core user experience that powers Viessmann’s smart home ecosystem. My work spans critical flows such as device commissioning, the architecture of ViCare Smart Climate components, and the foundation for scalable, multi-brand support across platforms.
Working alongside parallel modules like Discover, Agile Loads, and HEMS, I ensure that the user journey remains cohesive, accessible, and future-ready — no matter the brand, platform, or energy use case.
3a
UX: What I do?
Proof of Concepts
Led the proof of concept and rollout planning for integrating Viessmann’s Design System into ViCare, PoC for semantic colors, brand typography, and accessibility improvements aligned with EAA and WCAG 2.2, all grounded in user research.
ViCare Smart Cooling
Designed the end-to-end user experience for ViCare Smart Cooling — enabling intelligent, room-based temperature and humidity control powered by automation and predictive algorithms.
Cross-Module Concept Design
Developed UX concepts across key areas of ViCare — from the core monetization layer and quick selections, to the redesigned weather interface, commissioning process, and scalable flows for multibrand support.
User-Centered Iteration
Monitored user feedback and app reviews to identify UX/UI pain points, prioritized improvements, and drove design updates to ensure consistently high user satisfaction and usability scores.
04
UI
ViCare’s user interface is designed for clarity and ease — empowering users to monitor and control their heating systems effortlessly, anytime, anywhere.
Intuitive and User-Friendly Design: Many users appreciate the app’s clean and straightforward interface, which makes it easy to monitor and control heating systems remotely. These strengths are consistently highlighted by users on the App Store and Google Play.
4a
UI: What I do?
App’s redesign ver. 1
Led the first major UI redesign of the ViCare app — introducing a fresh visual language, dark mode concepts, and responsive layouts tailored for tablets. A bold step toward a unified, modern product experience.
UI proposals
Implemented functional UI elements inspired by fractal geometry — honoring Anton Stankowski’s design legacy at Viessmann. Focused on unifying the product experience while shaping innovative, market-leading solutions.
UI Concepting for Scalable Design System Integration
Crafted and analyzed UI concepts to support a seamless, low-friction migration of a complex, large-scale product into the Viessmann Design System — with consistency, clarity, and scalability at the core.
User-Centered Iteration
Monitored user feedback and app reviews to identify UX/UI pain points, prioritized improvements, and drove design updates to ensure consistently high user satisfaction and usability scores.
